India continue to build their impressive first-innings total against Sri Lanka in Galle, despite the home side taking key wickets on a rain-interrupted day<\/p>\n
Sri Lanka struck back through their spinners but Devdutt Padikkal’s elegant 167 has powered India to a commanding 9-460 in \u200cthe rain-plagued opening Test in Galle.<\/p>\n
Sri Lanka’s spin pair of \u200cPrabath Jayasuriya (4-109) and Keshara Nuwantha (3-175) kept the hosts in the match on Sunday but India \u200cscored at nearly four-runs-an-over to finish in a position of strength.<\/p>\n
Kuldeep Yadav (12) and Prasidh Krishna (one) were batting when stumps were drawn on day two.<\/p>\n

Rahul made 82 before flicking a Nuwantha delivery into the waiting hands of Nishan Fernando at forward short leg.<\/p>\n
Jayasuriya ended \u200bPadikkal’s \u200bfine knock when the \u200bspinner lured the batter out of his \u200ccrease and had him stumped. Padikkal hit 15 fours and a six in his maiden Test hundred.<\/p>\n
Nuwantha removed Ravindra Jadeja (13) but Dhruv Jurel raced to a breezy 51.<\/p>\n
