<\/p>\n
\n\tMarine fuel sales at Fujairah, the Middle East\u2019s largest bunkering hub, rebounded in July after falling to record lows in the previous months, but remained well below year-ago levels.<\/p>\n
\n\tA total of 231,865 m3 of marine fuel, excluding lubricants, was sold last month, a jump by 167.2% from June\u2019s volume, but down 63.8% from July 2025, according to latest data published by the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone and S&P Global Commodity Insights.<\/p>\n
\n\tJuly bunker sales were the highest since March, when the Iran war began to weigh on demand, with sales falling each month to a new record low in June.<\/p>\n
\n\tVLSFO accounted for most of the monthly increase in July.<\/p>\n
\n\tSales of 380 CST VLSFO, Fujairah\u2019s most-selling grade, surged 314.8% from June to 143,487 m3 in July. However, volumes remained 63.3% below July 2025.<\/p>\n
\n\tSales of 180 CST VLSFO fell 18.3% month on month to 1,700 m3, although they were 40.9% higher than a year earlier.<\/p>\n

\n\tJuly bunker sales were still nearly 64% lower than a year earlier<\/p>\n
\n\t380 CST HSFO sales rose 65.8% from June to 70,312 m3 but remained 65.8% below July 2025 levels.<\/p>\n
\n\tDistillate sales also increased month on month, led by LSMGO.<\/p>\n
\n\tLSMGO sales rose 115.6% from June to 16,198 m3 but were 62.4% lower year on year.<\/p>\n
\n\tMGO sales, meanwhile, fell 7.2% month on month to 168 m3, although they were 31.3% higher than in July 2025.<\/p>\n
\n\tDespite the month-on-month recovery, Fujairah\u2019s bunker sales remained significantly below their average monthly levels in the previous year.<\/p>\n
\n\tWith no breakthrough yet in negotiations between the US and Iran to end the war, vessel traffic through the Strait of Hormuz remains well below pre-war levels, although it has not come to a complete halt.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe reduced traffic could continue to weigh on bunker demand at Fujairah.<\/p>\n
\n\tAccording to Ship & Bunker price data<\/a>, Fujairah\u2019s average VLSFO price in July was $762.5\/mt, down significantly from $1,116\/mt in June but up from $516\/mt in July 2025.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe sharp drop in prices from June may have contributed to the increase in VLSFO sales at the port.<\/p>\n
