Josh Radnor revealed the \u201cHow I Met Your Mother\u201d cast is \u201cnot even a little bit\u201d close anymore.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t mean that in any dramatic way,\u201d the actor said on Sunday\u2019s episode of the \u201cHalf the Picture\u201d podcast<\/a>, before divulging where he stands with each of his former co-stars.<\/p>\n

Radnor explained that in March, he had Neil Patrick Harris on his \u201cHIMYM\u201d rewatch podcast<\/a> and they had \u201can interesting conversation about the some of the tension\u201d they had on the set of the hit sitcom.<\/p>\n

Radnor said he and Jason Segel \u201csend each other texts every once in a while,\u201d but noted he hasn\u2019t seen the \u201cShrinking\u201d star \u201cin a really long time.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 52-year-old added that he saw Cobie Smulders twice on Zoom, for her two appearances on the rewatch podcast, and hasn\u2019t seen Alyson Hannigan since his wedding to Jordana Jacobs in January 2024.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u200bHowever, Radnor noted that he has \u201clove\u201d for all of his former co-stars. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s like college where you have this very intense time together and you think you\u2019re going to be\u2026 you can\u2019t imagine not seeing each other every day,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd then it just disperses and you just go out and live your life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Radnor, who played Ted Mosby on the Emmy Award-winning show, explained that fans have always had \u201ca yearning\u201d for the cast to have a tight bond in real life.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople really want to believe that, like, me and Neil and Jason are hitting bars in New York City together. People really want to believe that,\u201d Radnor said. <\/p>\n

He added, \u201cIt\u2019s a little more like family than friends in that you don\u2019t get to choose your family. We were cast. We didn\u2019t choose each other. And family dynamics come out to play when you\u2019re in an environment like that for so long.\u201d<\/p>\n

Radnor reiterated there\u2019s a \u201cdeep and rich and probably everlasting\u201d love among the cast, but \u201cit\u2019s not an active love.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHIMYM,\u201d which ran for nine seasons from 2005 to 2014 on CBS, follows single Ted Mosby and his group of friends in New York City.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Radnor and Harris, 53, hashed out some of their on-set problems on the \u201cHow We Made Your Mother\u201d podcast<\/a>, with Harris admitting he felt his performance as ladies man Barney Stinson \u201cannoyed\u201d Radnor.<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember often when we were filming, and I sensed frustration from you because you wanted the scene to be like a good scene and I was looking at you like, \u2018Motherf\u2014er, I\u2019m doing spit takes,’\u201d Harris told his former co-star. <\/p>\n

Radnor confirmed he felt the tension between the two actors at the time, but noted the drama \u201cmight have been a little bit of confusion between actor and character.\u201d<\/p>\n

Additionally, Radnor admitted he felt insecure when they were shooting the show because the rest of the cast, including Harris, was more famous than him at the time.<\/p>\n
