Northern kosher bakery<\/a> State Fayre is set for resurrection after being placed into liquidation earlier this month.<\/p>\n The bakery was sold out of insolvency to a former director, Yehuda Fagleman, and his wife Shiri, preserving 25 jobs.<\/p>\n State Fayre had been struggling since Covid<\/a>, according to liquidator Steven Wiseglass of Inquesta, despite several strong years\u2019 trading pre-pandemic.<\/p>\n Wiseglass explained that pandemic restrictions had a \u201csignificant adverse impact\u201d on the company\u2019s finances. In the years that followed, the bakery\u2019s energy<\/a> costs then nearly tripled, and raw material costs increased and the payroll bill grew as statutory wage rates climbed.<\/p>\n \u201cCollectively, these factors placed sustained pressure on the company\u2019s finances,\u201d Wiseglass said.<\/p>\n \u201cThe director concluded that it was no longer sustainable to continue the business and sought our advice. The decision was made to place the company into liquidation.\u201d<\/p>\n Yehuda Fagleman had been one of four directors of State Fayre Ltd. He and Shiri now control the former company\u2019s assets, brands and order book through newco YF & SF Bakery Ltd.<\/p>\n The pair were in a \u201cstrong position\u201d to give the bakery a \u201cnew lease of life\u201d, he said, with \u201clots of ideas to expand and re-energise, including new product lines and other ventures\u201d.<\/p>\n The new company, trading under the State Fayre brand, is not liable for debts accrued by State Fayre Ltd.<\/p>\n State Fayre bakery sells bread, fresh pastries<\/a> and cakes<\/a> to supermarkets<\/a>, retailers and hospitality venues across Greater Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds and Glasgow.<\/p>\n $(document).ready(function() {
