(KKTV) &#8211; Colorado Springs Fire Department and Colorado Parks and Wildlife are reminding the public to keep their belongings and trash secured after a bear walked into a fire station and grabbed a gear bag.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Colorado Springs firefighters said they believe the bear was \u201cSmokey the Bear,\u201d who walked into the bay at Station 16, grabbed one of their gear bags and ran away.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Colorado Parks and Wildlife gives a few tips to keep your belongings secure, as black bears are a \u201cstomach with a nose\u201d trying to bulk up for the winter.<\/p>\n<p>Keep food and trash secured.Take down bird feeders.Keep pet food inside.Keep grills clean.Put out trash on pick-up day only.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">If you encounter a bear, Colorado Parks and Wildlife says to make loud noises to scare them off and make any encounter with humans \u201cuncomfortable for them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Firefighters posted a video of the bear break-in on social media. That video is seen below.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Colorado Parks and Wildlife has provided more ways to stay safe around bears as more encounters appear across the state.
