Tears For Fears<\/a> 1989 album The Seeds of Love will be reissued in October across a number of formats including as an SDE exclusive blu-ray audio.<\/p>\n

The recording sessions for the band\u2019s third and final album in the \u201980s (the last with Curt Smith until 2004\u2019s Everybody Loves A Happy Ending) were a famously protracted affair, taking four years to complete at a reputed cost of \u00a31m. Perfectionism was the name of the game, along with a passion for more organic sessions, which saw a switch from electronics to \u2018real instruments\u2019, the addition of world-class session musicians (Manu Katche, Pino Palladino etc), and Kansas-based singer Oleta Adams.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This all worked to stunning effect on the complex, Beatles-y lead single \u2018Sowing The Seeds Of Love\u2018 which reached the top 5 both sides of the Atlantic and on the singles \u2018Woman in Chains\u2018 and the fan (and band) favourite \u2018Badman\u2019s Song\u2018. Other highlights include the breezy Steely Dan-esque \u2018Advice For The Young At Heart\u2018 (the third single) and the driving \u2018Year of the Knife\u2018.<\/p>\n

This Seeds of Love blu-ray disc features a brand new\u00a0Steven Wilson Dolby Atmos Mix, an updated 5.1 mix (not the same as the one in the 2020 box set) and for the first time Steven Wilson\u2019s stereo mix is commercially released (this was first created in 2020 and updated in 2023).<\/p>\n

Additionally, the blu-ray includes an unreleased 2023 Miles Showell stereo remaster of The Seeds of Love (prepared for a half-speed vinyl pressing whch is part of this campaign), full instrumental versions in Atmos, 5.1 and Stereo and what Roland Orzabal called the \u201cmagical\u201d Townhouse Live Jam Sessions from the long out-of-print box set, which include Roland singing \u2018Rhythm of Life\u2018, a song he wrote with Nicky Holland but was never officially released by Tears For Fears (they gave it to Oleta Adams)..\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Seeds of Love SDE exclusive blu-ray will be packaged similarly to previous editions (clear amaray case) and ships with a free, collectible SDE Surround Series slipcase.<\/p>\n
