Gaza\u2019s Health Ministry reports rising casualties amid escalated Israeli attacks, with victims trapped under rubble.<\/p>\n

Israeli attacks across Gaza have killed at least four people, while several others were wounded in a strike on a medical warehouse inside a hospital compound in the centre of the strip.<\/p>\n

An Israeli drone strike targeted a tent used as a medical supply warehouse inside the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital complex in Deir el-Balah on Saturday, injuring three people, the hospital\u2019s director said.<\/p>\n

The Israeli military confirmed it hit a target within the compound of Al-Aqsa Hospital, claiming without evidence that a Hamas commander was struck.<\/p>\n

Medical aid NGO Doctors Without Borders (known by its French initials, MSF) said it was \u201cappalled by reports of an Israeli air strike within the Al-Aqsa Hospital compound\u201d, adding that the attack comes barely a month after another strike<\/a> on the same complex destroyed medical supply warehouses.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt a time when Israeli forces are routinely targeting hospitals, it is of utmost importance that all parties respect and preserve the neutrality and protection of medical facilities,\u201d MSF wrote on X.<\/p>\n

Separately on Saturday, an Israeli drone struck an electric bike in Gaza City\u2019s Tal al-Hawa neighbourhood, killing two people and wounding others, the Palestinian Wafa news agency reported. The casualties were taken to al-Quds Field Hospital.<\/p>\n

Another strike on a group of Palestinians in the southern city of Khan Younis killed one person and injured several others, including one in critical condition. The casualties were taken to Nasser Hospital.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the day, one Palestinian was killed by Israeli gunfire in the village of al-Musaddar, east of Deir el-Balah.<\/p>\n

An Israeli quadcopter also dropped an explosive device in the vicinity of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, according to hospital officials.<\/p>\n

Israel has escalated its attacks<\/a> across the Gaza Strip in recent days despite the so-called \u201cceasefire\u201d.<\/p>\n

On Saturday morning, Gaza\u2019s Ministry of Health reported receiving a total of 10 bodies in 48 hours \u2013 nine newly killed and one recovered from under rubble \u2013 along with 18 wounded.<\/p>\n

It said other victims remain trapped beneath destroyed buildings or on roads that ambulance and civil defence crews have been unable to reach.<\/p>\n

Since the \u201cceasefire\u201d between Israel and Hamas took effect in October last year, the ministry said, 1,313 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli attacks.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, between 4,000 and 5,000 Palestinians remain missing and are believed to be under rubble in Gaza, the Palestinian Centre for Missing and Forcibly Disappeared Persons said on Saturday.<\/p>\n

It added that between 2,500 and 3,000 people may have been subjected to forced disappearance in Gaza during Israel\u2019s genocidal war.<\/p>\n

The centre\u2019s estimate is based on an analytical study of a sample of 317 cases, and it said the findings showed indicators warranting an investigation into the possibility of a broader pattern of enforced disappearances.<\/p>\n

Of the 317 cases examined, 302, or 95.27 percent, were male and 15 were female. The sample included 41 children and 17 people aged 60 or older.<\/p>\n

Since Israel\u2019s war began in\u00a0 October 2023, more than 73,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza and more than 174,000 injured, most of them women and children.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Gaza\u2019s Health Ministry reports rising casualties amid escalated Israeli attacks, with victims trapped under rubble.
