The German-based financial services company \u2060Allianz is considering a \u00a35bn takeover swoop for AA, \u2060the breakdown \u2060recovery \u200bgroup, Sky News has reported.<\/p>\n

Allianz was \u200cone of a small number of parties holding talks with advisers to AA about a deal, Sky News said, adding that \u200cthe private equity outfit EQT was another bidder.<\/p>\n

AA was founded by a group \u2060of motoring enthusiasts in 1905 and known in Britain for its yellow \u2060recovery vehicles. AA\u2019s private equity \u200bowners have been pursuing a dual-track process<\/a> for most of this year, with the alternative to a sale being \u2060a public listing on the London Stock Exchange.<\/p>\n

Back in 2020, AA was taken private by its private equity investors TowerBrook and Warburg Pincus, having been floated on the stock market in \u200c2014.<\/p>\n

Both companies \u200bdeclined to comment.<\/p>\n
