{"id":600599,"date":"2026-08-30T12:28:08","date_gmt":"2026-08-30T12:28:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/600599\/"},"modified":"2026-08-30T12:28:08","modified_gmt":"2026-08-30T12:28:08","slug":"mk-itamar-ben-gvir-taunts-palestinian-prisoners-over-harsh-conditions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/600599\/","title":{"rendered":"MK Itamar Ben-Gvir taunts Palestinian prisoners over harsh conditions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir published footage on Sunday morning from a visit he made to Damon Prison in recent weeks, during which he was seen touring a security wing and speaking with female prisoners.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">A statement from Ben-Gvir\u2019s office claimed that the prisoners were female Islamic Jihad terrorists.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Ben-Gvir responded to them, \u201cOur hostages did not have shampoo and did not have these conditions. I am proud that we succeeded in reducing the conditions for terrorists to the barest of bare minimums. The prison kindergartens are over.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ben-Gvir also said that he came to see firsthand the implementation of Israel&#8217;s policy. &#8220;I heard the prison officers and also the complaints of the terrorists. We are not apologizing; anyone who harms Israeli civilians will not receive a kindergarten in prison. Terrorists, both male and female, will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/article-905737\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">receive the minimum required by law, and nothing beyond that<\/a>,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">In a post on X\/Twitter showing the video of his conversation with the prisoners, Ben-Gvir wrote that &#8220;The &#8216;whining&#8217; of the terrorists about the conditions in the prisons doesn&#8217;t work on me &#8211; our hostages had no conditions at all.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In May,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/politics-and-diplomacy\/article-899958\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> Ben-Gvir sparked controversy when he arrived for a tour<\/a> alongside prison officers, police forces, and IDF troops at the Port of Ashdod during the detention of flotilla activists. \u201cThe kindergarten is over,&#8221; Ben-Gvir said in a video of the tour. &#8220;Anyone who acts against the State of Israel will find a determined country. The people of Israel live.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the footage released, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/international\/article-896845\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">the national security minister was seen waving an Israeli flag<\/a> and saying, \u201cThey came with a lot of pride, as great heroes. Look how they look now,\u201d while gesturing toward the activists who were handcuffed on the ground. He called out, \u201cNot heroes and nothing else, supporters of terror.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">\u201cWelcome to Israel, we are the ones in charge,\u201d Ben-Gvir shouted at the activists, adding, \u201cI say to Prime Minister Netanyahu, give them to me for a long time. Give them to us for the terrorists\u2019 prisons.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">At another point in the video, a flotilla activist shouted \u201cFree Palestine\u201d and began resisting.
