Sean Ono Lennon<\/a> has announced the birth of baby boy, Aurelius \u2013 with the child becoming John Lennon<\/a> and Yoko Ono\u2019s<\/a> first grandchild.<\/p>\n

The musician and his girlfriend Charlotte Kemp Muhl announced the birth on social media last night (Tuesday September 1), sharing a photo of the three of them together and saying that they had \u201ccreated a Human Bean\u201d.<\/p>\n

The caption also shared that they had named him Aurelius, and the birth marks the first grandchild of Yoko Ono and John Lennon.<\/p>\n

Ono Lennon also posted some other photos of himself and his partner holding the baby, and comments congratulating them have come from Lindsay Lohan<\/a>, Flea<\/a>, Paris Hilton<\/a>, Questlove<\/a>, Willow Smith<\/a> and more.<\/p>\n

Sean is the only child of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, although he is half brothers with Julian Lennon<\/a> \u2013 who was born from John\u2019s first marriage to Cynthia Lennon.<\/p>\n

The two have spoken about their relationship multiple times over the years, with Julian sharing in 2023 that rumours of an alleged feud between them were \u201csuch bull\u201d<\/a> as they had \u201cnever had a fight in our life.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2025, Sean spoke out against any rumours of bad blood between them too<\/a>, asking fans not to compare them as they are \u201cbest buddies\u201d.<\/p>\n

Julian has established himself as a musician, photographer, author, and philanthropist, and Sean has a successful solo career as well as joining forces with Primus\u2019 Les Claypool once again to release their third album as the Claypool Lennon Delirium<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As well as his own musical endeavours, Sean has also been hands on with many Beatles<\/a> projects over the years \u2013 including producing a remastered version of a 1995 documentary series called The Beatles Anthology<\/a> last year, and also overseeing the production of a \u2018Mind Games\u2019 reissue boxset<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Last year, he opened up about how he is working to ensure young people don\u2019t forget about The Beatles too<\/a>, telling CBS\u2019s Sunday Morning that while \u201cthe world is also the custodian of [his father\u2019s] legacy\u201d, he was also \u201cdoing my best to help make sure that the younger generation doesn\u2019t forget about The Beatles and John and Yoko. That\u2019s how I look at it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Also in that interview, Lennon provided an update on his mother, who has taken a step back from public life in recent years. \u201cShe\u2019s good\u2026 she\u2019s 92, so she\u2019s slowed down a lot, and she\u2019s retired. That\u2019s why I\u2019m kind of trying to do the work that she used to do,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s why I feel a lot of pressure, actually, to do my best, because she set a high standard for the way that she dealt with my dad\u2019s music, and the Beatles stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sean has previously opened up about his father\u2019s lasting impact on his mother<\/a>, saying that she \u201cnever has moved on from that relationship\u201d, as well as discussing the \u201clegendary love\u201d between his parents<\/a>, and opening up about the reasons he believes his father came to \u201cresent\u201d being a Beatle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t feel that he\u2019d fallen out of love with music,\u201d he said last September. \u201cI think he\u2019d fallen out of love with a certain kind of fame. I think he\u2019d fallen out of love with having to be a part of a machinery, of a pop machine, you know?\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Sean helped bring a remastered version of John Lennon and Yoko Ono\u2019s Power To The People concert film to cinemas worldwide<\/a>.<\/p>\n

That film is a document of the \u2018One To One\u2019 concerts that the couple held at New York\u2019s Madison Square Garden on August 30, 1972. Only two performances were held, one a matinee show and the other in the evening, and they were Lennon\u2019s only full-length concerts after leaving The Beatles, as well as the last gigs John and Yoko played together.<\/p>\n

Speaking about his work to restore the footage, Sean told NME<\/a>: \u201cIt\u2019s been a very long time in the making. The concert was originally filmed in 1972 and for decades the footage was being restored to high quality digital. But I didn\u2019t oversee that process because I know nothing about it. I wasn\u2019t really involved until more recently.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also spoke about how his father sounded different in those shows compared to his time with The Beatles, saying: \u201cI think everyone who listens to it gets chills from how good his voice is \u2013 and it\u2019s good in a way that is totally un-Beatles.
