Brad Pitt insists that while his longtime pal George Clooney is a man of many talents, the one thing his \u201cOcean\u2019s Eleven\u201d co-star can\u2019t do is bust a move on the dance floor. <\/p>\n

Pitt\u2019s cheeky jab at Clooney was read aloud by actress Laura Dern at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival as she was presenting Clooney with the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the event\u2019s opening night ceremony Wednesday. <\/p>\n

\u201c[Clooney] can do, perform, accomplish, compete at most anything and does it better than any of us, but please, keep him off the dance floor,\u201d Dern said, reading Pitt\u2019s playful message to the audience. \u201cHe doesn\u2019t know. And now, this pigeon-toed kid from Kentucky, elder statesman, who when you can\u2019t get Brad Pitt you know Clooney will show up because he never met an award he wouldn\u2019t run to, is getting a lifetime achievement award? So why? Why do we love George Clooney?\u201d<\/p>\n

Pitt then answered his own question in the message read by Dern. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a rogue, a prankster, an altruist, an actor, an athlete. The only guy you\u2019d want in a crisis. A father, a husband, a global citizen, a defender of justice, and … a really bad dancer,\u201d he added, People<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n

Pitt teasing Clooney comes after the Hollywood duo starred together in the 2024 thriller \u201cWolfs.\u201d The film, which marked their first appearance on screen together since 2008\u2019s \u201cBurn After Reading,\u201d also premiered at the Venice International Film Festival in 2024. <\/p>\n

Dern shared some of her own words about Clooney. <\/p>\n

Calling him a \u201cman of the deepest kind of humanity and integrity\u201d and someone \u201cwho lives for service and truth,\u201d she praised him for telling stories within his films that \u201cmove us to be better.\u201d <\/p>\n

Dern added, \u201cOh, and all while he\u2019s, you know, doing that stuff \u2014 actor, writer, filmmaker, producer and activist \u2014 he happens to be the best friend you could ever have and the funniest person you will ever meet, and yes, he was voted [People\u2019s] \u2018Sexiest Man Alive\u2019 two times. Two times!\u201d<\/p>\n

Clooney and Pitt have publicly, lightheartedly roasted each other on multiple occasions. <\/p>\n

After Pitt, who was also twice crowned People\u2019s \u201cSexiest Man Alive<\/a>,\u201d named Clooney as one of the most handsome men in a 2022 Vogue interview<\/a>, Clooney joked that he wasn\u2019t buying his buddy\u2019s compliment. <\/p>\n

\u201cI will say that I think his first answer was himself, and then somebody said, \u2018Let\u2019s [film] that again.
