He first went to work in barbershops at 11, and he was still doing the job nearly a century later.<\/p>\n

The hedges in his own words matter: \u201cmay not apply,\u201d \u201ccould impact.\u201d This is one study, and it found an association, not proof that working keeps anyone alive longer. The obvious catch runs the other way: healthier people are more able to keep working in the first place.<\/p>\n

One life, not a formula<\/p>\n

Holding Mancinelli up as proof that a job cures old age would be a stretch. He is one man, one very long career, one set of circumstances nobody can copy.<\/p>\n

What the reporting shows is not a method but a fact: a person can stay busy and glad to be there at an age most of us never imagine reaching, and he apparently wanted to.<\/p>\n

Anthony Mancinelli kept cutting until July 2019. He died on September 19, 2019<\/a>, at 108, from complications of jaw cancer. That was after 96 years of cutting hair.<\/p>\n
