President Donald Trump declared Thursday that the U.S. has \u201cvirtually unlimited\u201d ammunition and accused those reporting otherwise of being \u201ctreasonous,\u201d pushing back against reports that the war with Iran has sharply depleted stockpiles<\/a> of several critical weapons.<\/p>\n \u201cThe people and Media Outlets that keep harping on the fact that we have no ammunition (And they are 100% wrong!), are actually treasonous,\u201d Trump wrote in a social media post. \u201cThey do it because they would rather see the United States LOSE a War that we\u2019re easily WINNING, than see me WIN!\u201d<\/p>\n Trump doubled down in a second post, saying the U.S. has \u201cvirtually unlimited amounts of Mid to High Grade Ammunition\u201d and is producing munitions \u201cat levels never seen before.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe are stockpiling and preparing for any contingency that could happen,\u201d Trump wrote, adding that the U.S. is prioritizing its own supplies before resuming sales to allies.<\/p>\n Trump also criticized the Biden administration for providing weapons to Ukraine, claiming it gave away more munitions than the U.S. has used during the Iran war and saying his administration would seek money from Europe for past support.<\/p>\n The posts come amid scrutiny of U.S. weapons inventories after months of fighting with Iran.<\/p>\n Fox News reported early last month<\/a> that some analysis has pointed to significant drawdowns of some critical weapons systems, including Tomahawk missiles and Patriot interceptors, while raising concerns about U.S. readiness for a potential future conflict.<\/p>\n
