Bruce Campbell<\/a> is sharing a new update about his cancer diagnosis and how he is approaching the years ahead.<\/p>\n The 68-year-old actor, best known for playing Ash Williams in the Evil Dead franchise, first disclosed in March that he had been diagnosed with a form of cancer that is treatable but not curable. He has not publicly shared the type of cancer.<\/p>\n During a new appearance on The Adam Carolla Show<\/a>, Bruce discussed his prognosis while talking about his new movie Ernie & Emma.<\/p>\n When host Adam Carolla asked about his earlier health news, Bruce described the cancer as something that is still present rather than a past health scare.<\/p>\n \u201cThe current thing is a five-year deal,\u201d he said during the episode, to which Adam followed up with the question: \u201cSo the prognosis is you have five years to live?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cGive or take,\u201d the horror icon confirmed.<\/p>\n Bruce continued, \u201cI\u2019ve decided, pretty specifically, to live with it, not die from it,\u201d adding that he does not want to lose himself in online cancer forums or other people\u2019s experiences with the disease.<\/p>\n The update comes six months after Bruce announced his diagnosis<\/a>. At the time, he called the cancer \u201ctreatable, not curable\u201d and stepped back from some conventions and professional appearances to prioritize treatment. He also told fans that he expected \u201cto be around a while.\u201d<\/p>\n Bruce previously provided a health update in August<\/p>\n More recently, Bruce told PauseRewind (via FOX11News<\/a>) that he was not experiencing symptoms and viewed the illness as an ongoing condition to manage. \u201cWhen nothing is symptomatic, I don\u2019t even know that I have anything,\u201d he said in the August interview.<\/p>\n Bruce is now moving forward with an 18-city screening tour for Ernie & Emma, which began September 4 in Los Angeles. He wrote, directed, produced and stars in the road-trip comedy about a widowed pear salesman carrying out his late wife\u2019s request to scatter her ashes in a series of places.<\/p>\n The tour is scheduled to continue through November.
