\n\tTaylor Swift<\/a> said she \u201cwelcomes the chaos\u201d when it comes to people\u2019s reactions to her new album, The Life of a Showgirl<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cThe rule of show business is if it\u2019s the first week of my album release and you are saying either my name or my album title, you\u2019re helping,\u201d she told Zane Lowe in an interview that aired Tuesday. \u201cAnd art, I have a lot of respect for people\u2019s subjective opinions on art. I\u2019m not the art police. It\u2019s like everybody is allowed to feel exactly how they want. And what our goal is as entertainers is to be a mirror.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tShe added, \u201cOftentimes, an album is a really, really wild way to look at yourself. What you\u2019re going through in your life is going to affect whether you relate to the music<\/a> that I\u2019m putting out at any given moment. And what I often love seeing my fans say is, \u2018I used to be someone who didn\u2019t relate to Reputation. And now that I\u2019ve been through some other things in my life, that\u2019s my favorite album.\u2019 Or, \u2018I used to be a Fearless girlie, now I\u2019m obsessed with Evermore.\u2019 <\/p>\n \n\t\u201cWe\u2019re doing this thing for keeps, she continued. \u201cI have such an eye on legacy when I\u2019m making my music. I know what I made. I know I adore it, and I know that on the theme of what the Showgirl is, all of this is part of it.\u201d<\/p>\n \t\tTrending Stories<\/p>\n \n\tDespite some mixed reactions, Swift said that she enjoyed creating the album, which has accrued more than three million album sales<\/a> in the United States, buoyed by some 28 different versions<\/a> of the project being for sale \u2014 and counting.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cMaking this album was really something I\u2019ve been wanting to do for my entire career, because I have always wanted to have fun in this type of way,\u201d she told Lowe. \u201cTo have fun, to exhibit mischief and be flirty, and fun, and make jokes, and get to have that side of my personality.
