(WBBJ) -A big weekend crowd packed the streets of east Jackson as an annual festival wrapped up their three-day run. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Hosted by the Society for African American Cultural Awareness, the event celebrated one hundred years of Black history in America through live music, art, and fellowship. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" fetchpriority=\"low\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Sunday was all about faith and fashion with a 'church on the street' and fashion show.\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/2U4BLJ6Z3RE2LCRW2LR2CSVD5U.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"531\" \/>Sunday was all about faith and fashion with a &#8216;church on the street&#8217; and fashion show.(WBBJ STAFF)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Sunday morning started with \u2018Church on the Street,\u2019 featuring Pastor Undrae Johnson of Brownsville\u2019s Family Life Fellowship Church, who says meetings outside the sanctuary walls remains critical.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cIt\u2019s always good to get out from the four walls from time to time, to be able to go into other elements and different spaces and allow the gift of God and the things that God has given to us to be able to spread it out to the hedges and the highways,\u201d Pastor Johnson said. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" fetchpriority=\"low\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"The African Street Festival takes place in Jackson with music, vendors, food and culture.\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/B6JM4HUGOBGNTF5L6HQJ6WMNJM.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"546\" \/>The African Street Festival takes place in Jackson with music, vendors, food and culture.(WBBJ STAFF)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The evening concluded with a tribute to the ancestors and community pillars, leading into a stunning fashion extravaganza and soulful saxophone melodies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The 36th annual African Street Festival brought families, artists, and vendors together for a three-day celebration of heritage.
