Celebrity Traitors<\/a> Season 2 is heading back to the castle with 21 famous faces. However, this season may have a very different energy from the first. Richard Osman<\/a>, the TV presenter and co-host of The Rest Is Entertainment<\/a>, has shared an “intense” update about the new series. The former finalist Joe Marler hinted that the pressure could be much higher this time.<\/p>\n

During a live edition of The Rest Is Entertainment at London’s Southbank Centre on Saturday, Osman and journalist Marina Hyde were joined by season 1 finalist Joe Marler.<\/p>\n

Osman said that, based on what he had heard from people involved in the upcoming series, filming “was quite intense.”<\/p>\n

According to The Guardian<\/a>, Marler appeared to agree, suggesting that the second season had a noticeably different atmosphere from his own experience.<\/p>\n

“I believe it was a slightly different emotion than our experience. Ours was very laugh-led, and everyone was sort of enjoying catching up, you know, pratting about to the point where they went, ‘Guys we’re trying to play a game.'”<\/p>\n

He explained that the new group seemed much more focused on winning from the beginning.<\/p>\n

“It’s not just for the laughs, ‘Oh do you remember going to that party darling?'” Marler said.<\/p>\n

“Whereas this lot really want it from the start.”<\/p>\n

He added that the success of the first season may have created extra pressure for the new contestants. “I guess they see how well the first series has gone and there’s a little bit of pressure on them to be like, ‘Oh I’d quite like a bit of that.'”<\/p>\n

The upcoming series will feature 21 celebrities competing for up to \u00a3100,000 for charity in a Scottish Highlands castle. The cast includes James Acaster, James Blunt, Maya Jama, Michael Sheen, Miranda Hart, Romesh Ranganathan and Ross Kemp.<\/p>\n

Osman also appeared to confirm that the series will premiere on September 23, although the date was reportedly under embargo.<\/p>\n

The first season of The Celebrity Traitors became a major ratings success, with its finale attracting 15.4 million viewers.<\/p>\n
