Brandon Flowers<\/a> has revealed which of his solo tracks he thinks could have been a big hit if it were released by The Killers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The band\u2019s frontman dropped his third solo album, \u2018Thrasher\u2019<\/a>, at the end of last month via Island \u2013 having already previewed it with singles \u2018Plans\u2019<\/a>, \u2018Paradise\u2019<\/a> and \u2018Tiger\u2019s Blood\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a recent Q&A with fans, he spoke about balancing his work with The Killers with his own solo endeavours. He was asked by one follower if there was a solo song of his that he thought could have worked as a Killers track.<\/p>\n

\u201cI always come back to \u2018Crossfire\u2019,\u201d he shared, referring to his 2010 debut solo single, which would later be released on his first solo album \u2018Flamingo\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt would have been probably a large Killers song and [I] slightly regret it, but also I\u2019m proud it still exists,\u201d he added, explaining that it is a song that he will still be playing at his upcoming live shows.<\/p>\n

That single received mixed reviews when it first dropped in 2010, but did remain at the top of NME\u2019s charts<\/a> for several weeks. \u2018Crossfire\u2019 peaked at Number Eight in the UK, making it Flowers\u2019 highest-charting solo song to date.<\/p>\n

The sound of the track does have a distinctively similar feel to that of some stripped-back Killers cuts, easing in with a gentle melody and tender vocals, before gradually building to a euphoric chorus.<\/p>\n

Flowers is playing \u2018Crossfire\u2019 on his current North America tour<\/a> in support of his new solo record, ahead of his UK and Ireland gigs this autumn<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u2018Thrasher\u2019 is Flowers\u2019 first solo record since 2015\u2019s \u2018The Desired Effect\u2019<\/a>, and was given a glowing four-star review from NME.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cWe could have done with a little more of his Vegas oomph, but what we have instead is a whole lotta soul sold on pure and thorough conviction,\u201d it read. \u201cAs we\u2019ve been learning from recent outings like \u2018Pressure Machine\u2019 and the criminally underrated epic of \u2018Imploding The Mirage<\/a>\u2019, Flowers is a much better storyteller than he gets credit for. With country music, there\u2019s nowhere to hide, now Flowers is out of his cage and doing just fine.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ahead of the release, the singer also spoke to NME about how the album was inspired by his childhood<\/a>, as well as tackling the \u201cloneliness epidemic\u201d for an incoming \u201csister record\u201d and what\u2019s next for The Killers.<\/p>\n

When asked about whether there was another album from the rock icons on the way, he replied: \u201cIt\u2019s not in the can, but the guys have been really great and accommodating about coming to Salt Lake to write and get demos going. We meet periodically in Salt Lake, and that\u2019s just on account of where I\u2019m at as a father\u2026 They\u2019ve been great about it, and we\u2019re just going to keep chipping away.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the full band, and we\u2019ve been working with Ariel Rechtshaid and Shawn Rado.
