From what we\u2019re calling the new Happy Valley to the highly anticipated return of Slow Horses and The Split\u2019s long-awaited spin-off<\/a>, we\u2019ve got something to watch no matter what you\u2019re in the mood for. So, take a moment to pause, because these are the 7 best shows to watch this week on ITV, Netflix, the BBC and more.<\/p>\n

Forever Home\"jenny<\/p>\n

Graham Norton\u2019s 2022 novel is coming to the small screen \u2013 and it\u2019s seriously brilliant viewing. At the centre of it is Carol, who discovers a long-dead body hidden in the basement of her home and realises she’s living with a killer. The story that her husband’s first wife ran away never to be seen again now looks like a lie – and the fact he\u2019s insisted on never selling the house suddenly makes sense. But that\u2019s just the beginning of the secrets. Douglas Henshall, Amy Nuttall and Denise Welch are among the cast. Arriving on Channel 5 at 9pm on Monday 14th September.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s finally time to head back to Slough House, espionage purgatory for MI5 officers, in series 6 of the beloved spy thriller. Based on two more of Mick Herron\u2019s novels, the new instalment will take us on quite the rollercoaster ride. The ruthless Diana Taverner (Kristin Scott Thomas) is finally the top dog of MI5’s HQ The Park and, with a long-running and complex rivalry with the dishevelled yet astute Jackson Lamb (Gary Oldman), it isn’t going to be easy for our downtrodden spies who become competitors in what Apple TV describes as a fatally high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge. We\u2019ve never been more ready! Series 6 is arriving on Apple TV on Wednesday 16th September.<\/p>\n

TV\u2019s most comforting period drama is making a comeback just in time for cosy season. The adaptation of Alf Wight\u2019s stories, which are rooted in his real-life experiences, revolves around Skeldale House where James has been hired as a vet by Siegfried Farnon (Samuel West). Over the course of six series, we\u2019ve seen him deal with everything from livestock dilemmas to pet rescues and also navigate his way through some heartbreak along the way \u2013 but now, a new vet threatens the status quo. Series 7 is arriving on Channel 5 at 9pm on Thursday 17th September. <\/p>\n

Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story\"monster:<\/p>\n

True crime fans, get ready – the latest instalment of Netflix\u2019s popular Monster anthology series is bringing us the darkest story yet. The events revolve around Lizzie Borden (Ella Beatty), the infamous Massachusetts woman who was accused of the 1892 axe murder of her parents. The series focuses on Lizzie\u2019s entrapment in a house built on humiliation and cruelty and how she and her rebellious maid, Bridget Sullivan (Vicky Krieps), escape into a fantasy of sex, power and, ultimately, revenge. A truly chilling watch. Arriving on Netflix on Thursday 17th September.<\/p>\n

Paramount<\/p>\n

After some behind-the-scenes drama, Paramount+\u2019s hit crime drama is back \u2013 and, spoiler, it doesn\u2019t disappoint. The new 10-part series sees Tom Hardy return as loyal fixer Harry da Souza, alongside Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren as the unscrupulous heads of the Harrigan family, Conrad and Maeve. When we meet the Harrigans again, we find them struggling to show a unified front as rivals threaten their fractured criminal empire, and Harry must walk a dangerous tightrope as tensions rise. Series 2 is arriving on Paramount+ on Friday 18th September. <\/p>\n

Strictly Come Dancing: The Launch\"tx<\/p>\n

Sequins at the ready for what\u2019s set to be Strictly\u2019s glitziest series yet. New hosts Emma Willis, Johannes Radebe and Josh Widdicombe will make their eagerly awaited debut and, for the first time ever, each celebrity and pro will discover the identity of their partner in front of the Strictly studio audience via three specially choreographed group dance routines. This year\u2019s contestants include Dani Dyer, Dame Sarah Storey and Lacey Turner. Series 21 is arriving on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 7.25pm on Saturday 19th September. <\/p>\n

The Blame\"quay<\/p>\n

The new Happy Valley is here! Well, sort of. Happy Valley producer Nicola Shindler is behind this new ITV series, which is based on the 2023 novel of the same name by Charlotte Langley. Over the course of six episodes, we follow DI Emma Crane (Fool Me Once\u2019s Michelle Keegan) and her colleague DI Tom Radley (Douglas Booth) who are called to investigate when the body of a teenage figure skater is found in the quiet town of Wakestead. What follows is pretty dark, to say the least, with lies, cover-ups and some pretty dark secrets exposed. Arriving on ITV1 and ITVX at 9pm on Sunday 20th September.<\/p>\n

The Split Up\"tx<\/p>\n

At last, the BBC\u2019s long-awaited spin-off of The Split<\/a> is coming. While the Defoes (and Nicola Walker) sadly won\u2019t be back, the series will remain within The Split universe. The focus is now on powerhouse legal family the Kishans – led by father-daughter duo Dhruv (Sanjeev Bhaskar) and Aria (Ritu Arya) – whose legacy is on the line when a family secret is unearthed. With The Split writer Abi Morgan serving as executive produced it, we can safely say it\u2019s been in good hands.
