A newfound appreciation for Art Deco\u2019s visual language has resurfaced recently in the jewelry space. The result is a renaissance of decorative flourishes, from ornate drop earrings to tasseled pendant necklaces and gemstone-encrusted collars, which are finding a prominent place in everyday wardrobes as an expression of personal style.<\/p>\n
This reawakening can be traced to a new generation of jewelry designers<\/a> capturing the refined yet opulent nature of the 1920s design movement through a contemporary lens: Brazilian-born fine jewelry designer Fernando Jorge<\/a> brings architectural Art Deco patterns to life in his Deep Vertex series through geometric structures in onyx, jade, and mother of pearl. Sophie Buhai, too, has become known for her sculptural take on jewelry and functional objects, hand-crafted in recycled silver and semi-precious stones like jade, carnelian, and lapis.<\/p>\n New York-based Julia Ferentinos<\/a>, founder of Juju Vera<\/a>, strikes a more sculptural tone in her work. She incorporates spirals, fan shapes, and Greek keys as recurring motifs in her designs, which pair polished silver with carved stones, tassels, or diamonds. \u201cI\u2019m drawn to Art Deco\u2019s ability to reinterpret ancient references into modern forms,\u201d said the 2026 CFDA finalist, whose Greek heritage has kindled a natural curiosity for the spirit of the style. \u201cIt combines so many influences I love\u2014Greco-Roman architecture, Ancient Egypt, Asian lacquer work, and Viennese Secessionism\u2014through a lens of elegance, symmetry, and restraint.\u201d<\/p>\n
