{"id":623178,"date":"2026-09-21T20:18:10","date_gmt":"2026-09-21T20:18:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/623178\/"},"modified":"2026-09-21T20:18:10","modified_gmt":"2026-09-21T20:18:10","slug":"mda-treats-3322-people-across-israel-on-yom-kippur","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/623178\/","title":{"rendered":"MDA treats 3,322 people across Israel on Yom Kippur"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Magen David Adom <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/tags\/mda\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">(MDA)<\/a> said in a statement on Monday that its paramedic teams treated 3,322 people across the country during <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/j-spot\/article-909073\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Yom Kippur<\/a> and evacuated 2,268 to hospitals.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Among those treated, 368 people fainted, became dehydrated, or felt unwell due to fasting.<\/p>\n<p>Two people lost their lives in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/article-908479\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">traffic accidents<\/a>, and another individual was reportedly killed in a violent incident.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">MDA teams also transported 155 women in labor to hospitals, with five of these women giving birth with the assistance of the paramedic teams.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">MDA&#8217;s blood services also provided some 152 units of blood and blood components to hospitals throughout the country during Yom Kippur.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Approximately 95 children were taken to the emergency department at Ruth Rappaport Children\u2019s Hospital at Rambam, with nearly half treated for trauma related to bicycle and scooter accidents.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Additionally, on the eve of Yom Kippur, a two-year-old boy was hospitalized after a portable gas canister exploded during a camping trip in the northern Sharon area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Both the toddler and his mother suffered burns, and the child is currently in the pediatric intensive care unit, sedated and on a ventilator, with burns covering 60% of his body.
