Nottinghamshire County Council workers\u2019 pensions are on a firmer footing after its pot increased by more than \u00a31.1bn in the last year.<\/p>\n
The Nottinghamshire Pension Fund (NPF) now stands at \u00a38.659bn after rapid growth of 14.8% in the 12 months up to the end of June. This includes an improvement of \u00a3558m in the last quarter alone.<\/p>\n
The NPF is the main workplace pension scheme for those employed by the county council and other participating businesses.<\/p>\n

Sherwood Forest councillor James Gamble, chairman of the NPF, said: \u201cThese are very positive figures for the Nottinghamshire Pension Fund and reflect the importance of taking a rigorous approach to managing costs and investing for the long term.<\/p>\n
\u201cSince 2025, we have been challenging investment-management fees and looking closely at how the fund\u2019s assets are allocated. Passing \u00a31m in savings from fee reviews was an important milestone, and we have continued that work this year.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen you are managing more than \u00a38.6bn, even relatively small changes can have a very significant financial impact. Our focus remains on making sure the fund is managed responsibly and that we continue to secure value for money.<\/p>\n
\u201cI would also like to thank the Nottinghamshire Pension Fund officers and advisors for their expertise and hard work. Their professionalism and commitment have been central to the progress we have made.\u201d<\/p>\n
Cllr Faz Choudhury, vice chairman of the NPF, added: \u201cThere is no room for complacency, but this is encouraging progress and a good example of responsible stewardship of significant public assets.<\/p>\n
