{"id":631236,"date":"2026-09-29T16:36:13","date_gmt":"2026-09-29T16:36:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/631236\/"},"modified":"2026-09-29T16:36:13","modified_gmt":"2026-09-29T16:36:13","slug":"russia-tightens-cash-outflow-limits-to-neighboring-countries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/631236\/","title":{"rendered":"Russia Tightens Cash Outflow Limits to Neighboring Countries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President Vladimir Putin<a href=\"http:\/\/publication.pravo.gov.ru\/document\/0001202609290020?index=1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> signed<\/a> an executive order on Tuesday tightening restrictions on taking cash from Russia to neighboring countries.<\/p>\n<p>Individuals are now prohibited from taking more than 1 million rubles ($11,900) in cash to Armenia,\u00a0Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan,\u00a0Kyrgyzstan,\u00a0Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. <\/p>\n<p>Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are members of the Russian-led Eurasian Economic Union.<\/p>\n<p>Individuals had previously been allowed to move the\u00a0ruble equivalent of $100,000 under an order signed by Putin in March.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, businesses are banned from removing any amount of cash from the country,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kommersant.ru\/doc\/8989504?from=top_main_1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> according<\/a> to the newspaper Kommersant.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4\">Individual violators of the new restrictions face total confiscation of any sums exceeding 1 million rubles, while businesses caught attempting to transfer funds will be forced to surrender the entire cash amount.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4\">Exceptions apply to travelers passing through government-designated international airports, official diplomatic missions and individuals who provide bank authorization statements.<\/p>\n<p>The new restrictions take effect immediately.<\/p>\n<p>Russia previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themoscowtimes.com\/2022\/03\/02\/russia-takes-more-measures-to-prop-up-sanction-hit-economy-a76714\" title=\"banned\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">banned<\/a> individuals from taking more than $10,000 in foreign currency out of the country in March 2022 following the launch of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"President Vladimir Putin signed an executive order on Tuesday tightening restrictions on taking cash from Russia to neighboring&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":631237,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[11],"tags":[114,184,85,46,2101],"class_list":["post-631236","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-economy","tag-business","tag-economy","tag-il","tag-israel","tag-money"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/631236","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=631236"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/631236\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/631237"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=631236"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=631236"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=631236"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
