\n\tMark Ruffalo<\/a> is speaking out against the Paramount-Warner Bros. Merger once again, this time following the news on Wednesday that the deal has been approved<\/a> and is tentatively set to close next week.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThis merger will stifle creativity, weaken free speech, and cost people their jobs \u2014 it is a bad deal for this country and should never have been approved,\u201d wrote Ruffalo in a statement posted to Threads<\/a> on Wednesday. \u201cThis is an incredibly disappointing outcome for the hundreds of thousands of us who stood up to block it, but it\u2019s also not the end. This grassroots movement isn\u2019t going to fade away and neither is our resolve.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe continued: \u201cThis was never about just one merger: this was about fighting back against corrupt oligarch billionaires trampling the interests of everyday people to line their own pockets. We\u2019re still in that fight. Join us.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tRuffalo has long been outspoken about his opposition to the merger. Earlier this month<\/a>, Ruffalo encouraged California Attorney General Rob Bonta<\/a> and his coalition of 11 other state AGs not to settle their lawsuit against Paramount Skydance, which would effectively keep David Ellison from acquiring Warner Bros.<\/a> Discovery.<\/p>\n
