Over the past six months, Ella Langley<\/a> has gone from country-music famous<\/a> to being a household name. That difference means not only increased streaming numbers but also people constantly picking apart her outfit and performance choices, particularly after her song \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas\u201d beat Mariah Carey\u2019s \u201cAll I Want for Christmas Is You\u201d<\/a> to become the longest-lasting No. 1 hit of all time. It\u2019s been hard. \u201cI don\u2019t think I\u2019ve ever had more opinions on myself in my life than I have in this last year,\u201d she said during a show in Columbus, Ohio. \u201cThe way I look, the way I speak, the way I dress, the way I move, the way I sing, the way I write. And at first, it bothered me. I won\u2019t even lie.\u201d She even said she wasn\u2019t sure how she\u2019d manage: \u201cIf this is what it\u2019s going to be the whole entire time, shit, I don\u2019t know if I\u2019m strong enough for this, Lord.\u201d<\/p>\n Ultimately, Langley told the audience that she\u2019s working to remember that \u201cthe girl they\u2019re picking on is the girl that got me where I\u2019m sitting today.\u201d She implied that the online criticism was mostly classism-based. \u201cThat\u2019s the girl that rode in a 15-passenger van night after night after night,\u201d Langley said. \u201cShe rode in a Honda Accord, night after night after night, chasing her dream, living on bar food, living on tip-jar money. She didn\u2019t have anything but a dream and the ability to get out and do it every single day.
