Since the start of the Israel-Hamas War<\/a> on October 7, 2023, 1,318 members of Israel’s security forces have fallen in the conflict, according to data published by the Families, Commemoration, and Heritage Department of the Defense Ministry<\/a> on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The number includes fallen personnel from the IDF, Israel Police, Shin Bet<\/a> (Israel Security Agency), Fire and Rescue Services, security coordinators, and local response team members.<\/p>\n

The numbers account for the fallen across all fronts, including the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, and the West Bank.<\/p>\n

More than 7,150 people have been officially recognized as relatives who lost someone in service since the start of the war, including 2,143 bereaved parents, 355 widows<\/a>, and 880 orphans.<\/p>\n

3,772 people lost a sibling in the war.<\/p>\n

Despite the ceasefire that took effect in the Gaza Strip on October 10, 2025, a number of Israeli soldiers have been killed in incidents along the Yellow Line that delineates the buffer zone within the strip.<\/p>\n

Last week, two IDF soldiers were killed when a drone that they were operating landed and exploded within their military outpost in the northern Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n

The soldiers, who were reservists serving as part of the 16th Brigade, were initially evacuated to Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon but were pronounced dead.<\/p>\n

The two soldiers were Maj. (Res.) Nadav Kali, 24, from Har Halutz, and Maj. (Res.) Ofek Moalem, 23, from Jerusalem.<\/p>\n
