{"id":637635,"date":"2026-10-06T02:32:10","date_gmt":"2026-10-06T02:32:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/637635\/"},"modified":"2026-10-06T02:32:10","modified_gmt":"2026-10-06T02:32:10","slug":"steam-gives-devs-even-more-fps-data-for-performance-optimization","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/637635\/","title":{"rendered":"Steam Gives Devs Even More FPS Data for Performance Optimization"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In early 2026, Valve started giving developers more information about the systems playing their games, starting with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techpowerup.com\/348480\/valve-adds-steam-deck-frame-rate-reporting-tools-for-developers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">optional frame rate reporting for games on the Steam Deck<\/a> and system <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techpowerup.com\/346364\/steam-reviews-now-allow-players-to-include-specifications\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">specifications in user reviews<\/a>. It now seems to be expanding that program, according to a new blog post on the Steamworks developer news blog. The update expands Steam Deck frame rate data to show player experience. <\/p>\n<p>With the new data, developers who publish on Steam will be able to access frame rate data as a distribution, effectively showing developers what percentage of the game runs at certain frame rates. Valve says that it is starting with the Steam Deck as a known system configuration, which makes the data easier to interpret and gives Steam a basis to start iterating on the sort of data it collects about game performance.
