On 30 September, the Haas racing team confirmed the rumours that had been doing the rounds: Esteban Ocon, who has competed in 196 Grand Prix races, is no longer with the team.

Haas has not yet made an official announcement, but all signs point to Brazilian Rafael Camara taking Ocon’s place next season. The 21-year-old Ferrari protégé is competing in Formula 2 in 2026 and currently leads the championship.

As for Ocon: what next? The 2022 World Championship eighth-place finisher said in the paddock at the Marina Bay Circuit in Singapore: “I’m still working on it; we’re discussing it. When I have more news for you, I’ll definitely make an announcement. But at the moment, my full focus is on this weekend – let’s keep up the good work we’ve been doing at the last few events, and keep making overtakes. I think I’ve made more than 100 overtakes this year, so that’s pretty good.”

And Esteban explains exactly what he has in mind for 2027: “My plan is Formula 1. This is where I belong. When I look at the results and everything I’ve shown in Formula 1 over the years, I deserve to stay in the top flight.”

“Of course, there are other racing categories that are fantastic, but I want to be racing in Formula 1 for the next five to seven years. That’s the only thing on my mind at the moment.”

“If I can’t get a permanent seat, then I’d settle for the role of reserve driver. Even if I don’t get a seat in Formula 1, I won’t be racing in any other series.”

On 30 September, the Haas racing team confirmed the rumours that had been doing the rounds: Esteban Ocon,…

[9
85,46,105
post-640445","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-sports","tag-il","tag-israel","tag-sports
["GET
