Apple is currently beta testing iOS 27.2, its next major point update to its iPhone software, but there’s a particular quirk in this update that’s worth noting. <\/p>\n

Apple never released iOS 27.1 to the public. Instead, it’s going from iOS 27<\/a> straight to iOS 27.2. That’s because the company plans to ship the iPhone Duo<\/a>, its first foldable iPhone, on October 23, and it will have iOS 27.1 preinstalled exclusively. <\/p>\n

Apple is following this strategy because it likely wants to keep some of the \u200ciPhone Duo\u200c features hidden for longer.<\/p>\n

As for when iOS 27.2 will be released, we know it’s going to be sometime later this month. Apple has said the new \u200cSiri<\/a>\u200c AI languages in iOS 27.2 would be available in October, so it’s likely iOS 27.2 will come shortly after the \u200c\u200ciPhone Duo\u200c\u200c’s release date.<\/p>\n
