Samsung is raising the prices of most of its Galaxy lineup this month. Altogether, the price hikes appear to affect at least seven of the company’s devices, including the Galaxy S26 lineup and four of its Galaxy A devices, according to Phone Arena. If you’ve been hoping prices might drop again, you’ll want to wait for a sale before buying a new Galaxy phone.

This isn’t the first time Samsung has bumped up its prices this year, either. Back in April, Samsung raised prices on several phones and tablets, including the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, S25 FE, and S25 Edge. However, those phone increases mostly hit the higher-storage configurations, so if you were fine with the base model, you could largely avoid them. Unfortunately, that’s not the case this time around, as even the cheapest versions of these devices are getting more expensive.

Of course, Samsung phones have been creeping up in price for years now. Back in 2016, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge cost around $650 and $750 to buy brand-new, and they were great flagships for their day. Even the Galaxy S26 started at just $900 before this latest increase, though now you’ll need to pay closer to $1,000 to pick it up.

How much the Galaxy S26 lineup costs now

Wongsakorn 2468/Shutterstock

Every version of the Galaxy S26 lineup now costs at least $100 more than it did before. The base Galaxy S26 now starts at $999.99 for the 256GB model, while the 512GB model has gone from $1,099.99 to $1,199.99. The S26 Plus follows the same pattern, too, with the 256GB version jumping from $1,099.99 to $1,199.99 and the 512GB version moving from $1,299.99 to $1,399.99.

Those looking to pick up the Galaxy S26 Ultra will also see the same $100 increase on its 256GB and 512GB models, now priced at $1,399.99 and $1,599.99. However, if any users were eyeing the 1TB model, Samsung has added an extra $200 to the price tag, bringing it from $1,799.99 to $1,999.99. That’s the biggest jump of any affected device, and it puts one of Samsung’s top-end Ultras at almost the same price as the 512GB Fold 8 Ultra.

The higher prices also make it harder to justify an upgrade if you already own last year’s model, especially since most of the new features should hit previous flagships within the next several months. The Galaxy S26 shines thanks to its Privacy Display, and the cameras continue to deliver the quality Samsung users have come to expect. But there just isn’t much reason to upgrade from the S25 Ultra to the S26 Ultra, and now with these price increases, the reasons to upgrade have become even less convincing.

Samsung’s cheaper Galaxy A phones aren’t safe, either

perfect-picture-hunter/Shutterstock

Samsung’s more affordable devices are also facing price hikes. The Galaxy A57 5G now starts at $599.99 for 128GB, down $50 from its previous $549.99 price. The 256GB version is seeing a bigger $70 jump, going from $609.99 to $679.99. The Galaxy A37 5G now costs $489.99 for 128GB and $609.99 for 256GB. So, on both phones, opting for the extra storage means paying a bigger increase. The two cheapest phones in the lineup got a bit of a break, at least this time. The 128GB Galaxy A27 5G now costs $379.99, up from $349.99, while the 128GB Galaxy A17 5G went up from $249.99 to $269.99.

The price hike on the A17 feels especially egregious when you consider how much the device cost at its U.S. debut in January 2026. At launch, the phone cost just $199.99. Since then, Samsung has raised the price once in August to $249.99, and has now raised it again to $269.99. That means the A17 now costs about 35% more than it did at launch, all in less than a year.
