Authorities added that Santa Monica Police Detectives were “investigating the death as a suspected overdose,” and they said there is “no indication of foul play.”<\/p>\n The official cause and manner of death will be determined by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner, and the investigation into Presley’s death remains ongoing.<\/p>\n (From left to right): Presley Gerber, Kaia Gerber, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber in May 2026. Presley had been open about his mental health and substance abuse during public appearances and on his social media account before he died.<\/p>\n A source previously told PEOPLE<\/a> that Crawford and Rande spent “years” helping Presley seek treatment, including therapy, inpatient and outpatient rehab and “so many types of homeopathic therapies.”<\/p>\n An insider, who has been close to Crawford, told PEOPLE that she and Rande were consistently involved in their son’s life<\/a>. “This was never a situation involving two absent Hollywood parents,” the source said. “Cindy and Rande could not have been more supportive of Presley. They were always there for him and did everything they could to help him. The family has always been incredibly close, and Presley was deeply loved.”<\/p>\n One person close to Kaia, 25, also told PEOPLE that the family was in “total shock”<\/a> after Presley’s death, stating, “They are saddened beyond words.
