{"id":644411,"date":"2026-10-12T19:48:09","date_gmt":"2026-10-12T19:48:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/644411\/"},"modified":"2026-10-12T19:48:09","modified_gmt":"2026-10-12T19:48:09","slug":"flydubai-hijacking-survivor-filmmaker-to-reveal-unseen-footage-in-documentary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/644411\/","title":{"rendered":"Flydubai hijacking survivor, filmmaker, to reveal unseen footage in documentary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KAN 11 and KAN Box announced that documentary filmmaker Eyal Datz, who was aboard <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/article-911331\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">flydubai<\/a> Flight 1073 with his 75-year-old father, Yaakov, is making a film about the flight\u2019s dramatic ordeal and the experiences of its 174 Israeli passengers, who subdued a would-be hijacker and avoided tragedy.<\/p>\n<p>The documentary will feature new passenger testimony and previously unreleased footage recorded <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/international\/article-910155\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">aboard the plane<\/a> and in Saudi Arabia, where it landed safely.<\/p>\n<p>It will examine how passengers responded to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/article-911261\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">life-threatening<\/a> situation and investigate the alleged failures that led to it.<\/p>\n<p>Days after landing in Israel, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/article-911333\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Datz<\/a> began interviewing fellow passengers about what they had experienced.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">The film brings together accounts from Israelis of different backgrounds who suddenly found themselves sharing one goal: staying alive.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Datz\u2019s previous documentaries for KAN include Something Spicy, Ten Days in October, and I Will Hide My Face.
