\n\tMother has partnered with the independent Berkeley-founded record store Amoeba Music<\/a> on a new capsule collection<\/a> as part of its holiday 2026 collection.<\/p>\n

\n\tBuilding on past music<\/a> partnerships including Alison Mosshart from The Kills in London and Orville Peck in Brooklyn, the apparel collaboration<\/a> is tapping into the growing nostalgia for analog culture, era-defining moments in music, and celebrates musical discovery and individuality within record-store culture.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMusic has always been a big part of the Mother world \u2014 and music and fashion are forever intertwined,\u201d Tim Kaeding, cofounder and creative director of Mother, told WWD. \u201cWe\u2019ve worked with musicians, hosted performances and built collections around different moments in music because there\u2019s such a natural connection between music and personal style.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe capsule collection<\/a> features six unisex styles and accessories such as a white denim<\/a> jacket with pins, white carpenter pants, assorted brightly colored Ts and sweatshirts featuring a reimagined Amoeba logo in rainbow hues, a record tote and more.<\/p>\n

\n\tMother noted that the collaboration<\/a> with Amoeba Music was natural, given the store is a California \u201ccultural landmark\u201d with a \u201cfiercely independent spirit\u201d and aligned with the brand\u2019s own point of view. Kaeding also said the inspiration for the latest collection came from finding pieces in vintage stores and digging through bins.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAmoeba felt especially personal because of our California roots,\u201d said Lela Becker, president and cofounder of Mother. \u201cIt\u2019s a place where you can lose an afternoon digging through records and come out with something you didn\u2019t know you were looking for. That sense of discovery, individuality and finding your own taste is very Mother.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBecker, who grew up around San Francisco, said the store represented more than just music. She said there is magic to the idea of spending hours in a record store and stumbling upon something unexpected, with discovery and slower living at the core of the brand\u2019s storytelling.<\/p>\n

\n\tAnd beyond its denim<\/a> offering, Mother has continued to expand its presence within the apparel space alongside new capsule collections.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe started with denim, but Mother has always been about more than the product. Storytelling is central to who we are, and as we\u2019ve grown, it has organically led us to expand into different categories, campaigns and experiences to fully tell our stories.
