These remarks coincided with explicit, sharp threats made by President Donald Trump against Iran, openly warning of a severe strike.<\/p>\n
During a campaign rally in Alaska, Trump told attendees to wait and see what would be done to Iran, declared that they are going to hit them hard, stated that he is fed up with Iran’s conduct, and stressed that the primary objective is preventing Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons.<\/p>\n
Alongside the threats and operational readiness, and as part of bolstering military capabilities for the longer term, the Israeli Ministry of Defense and the Pentagon signed a deal this week for new helicopters for the Israeli Air Force, following extended delays.<\/p>\n
The major defense contract covers the procurement of 12 new Apache helicopters manufactured by Boeing, which are slated for delivery to the IAF beginning early next decade.<\/p>\n
The newly acquired aircraft are the Echo model (AH-64E), the most advanced variant of the attack helicopter. The total value of the agreement stands at $988 million, reflecting a unit cost of more than $80 million per helicopter.<\/p>\n
A variety of vital electronic and weapons systems produced by Israeli defense industries will be integrated into the helicopters. Some systems will be installed directly at manufacturing facilities in the United States, while others will be fitted once the helicopters arrive and are inducted into the IAF.<\/p>\n
