Sci-fi sagas don’t come more sandworm-sized in ambition than Denis Villeneuve’s blockbuster adaptation of Dune. First came the operatic world-building of Part One, bringing Timothée Chalamet’s young Paul Atreides to the barren, Spice-rich planet Arrakis; then came Part Two, a romantic war epic which saw Paul meet his literal dream-girl, Zendaya’s Fremen warrior Chani, as the sands of power shifted. And now, Villeneuve and his cast are finishing what they started, closing out his thunderous trilogy. Dune: Part Three is the filmmaker’s final word on Frank Herbert’s opus, with the fate of Paul, Chani, Arrakis, and the entire Imperium in the balance. War, worms, and weirdness: it all ends here.

You don’t need the Eyes Of Ibad to look ahead to Villeneuve’s Dune finale – Empire’s world-exclusive Dune: Part Three issue is packed with insights and brand new interviews, speaking to Villeneuve about his decision to end his adaptation now, the distinctive flavour of this final chapter, and why he had to make it before moving on to James Bond. Plus, we speak to Timothée Chalamet about Paul Atreides’ darkest chapter; Zendaya about the personal betrayal Chani is wrestling with; Anya Taylor-Joy about the wildcard addition of Paul’s psychic sister Alia; Robert Pattinson about his shape-shifting assassin Scytale; Florence Pugh about Empress Irulan’s political machinations; and Jason Momoa about his return, despite the death of his Duncan Idaho in Part One. It’s a stacked cast, and Empire has the first word from all of them.

The Dune: Part Three issue comes in two collectible cover variants – the first featuring Chani on the warpath, as Paul Atreides looms large, flanked by Alia and Jason Momoa’s mysterious Hayt.

"Empire

The second cover has Paul striding towards his destiny, with the spectre of Chani hanging over him – and Scytale and Irulan plotting in the shadows.

"Empire

And the subscriber cover is a portrait of a crumbling Paul Atreides, bathed in glowing Spice, haunted by Chani’s blue scarf – illustrated exclusively for Empire by Greg Ruth.

And that’s not all. This month’s issue also features the world-first joint Quentin Tarantino and David Fincher interview for The Further Mis-Adventures Of Cliff Booth; we revisit the entire Meet The Parents series with its cast and creators, including Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller; we go on set of Blade Runner 2099 to meet a whole new generation of Replicants; the co-stars of Tupac reflect on his movie career; we answer all your burning Avengers: Doomsday questions; and much, much more.

It’s an unmissable issue – and you don’t even have to travel to Arrakis to get one. Pre-order a copy online here, or pick one up on newsstands from Thursday October 22.
