{"id":650940,"date":"2026-10-19T09:34:10","date_gmt":"2026-10-19T09:34:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/650940\/"},"modified":"2026-10-19T09:34:10","modified_gmt":"2026-10-19T09:34:10","slug":"baillie-baillie-bags-planning-for-timber-buildings-at-scottish-estate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/650940\/","title":{"rendered":"Baillie Baillie bags planning for timber buildings at Scottish estate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The firm, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.architectsjournal.co.uk\/news\/london-wins-big-at-the-riba-national-awards-see-all-32-projects\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">which won a RIBA National and a RIAS award for its Iorram house scheme this year<\/a>, has designed the buildings for an sawmill site on the Logie Estate in Moray.<\/p>\n<p>Both structures have been developed using an adaptable timber truss system, which will be prefabricated off-site.<\/p>\n<p>One building is a facility for maintenance and estate management purposes and the other features four commercial units under one roof, offering space for local businesses.<\/p>\n<p>Baillie Baillie, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.architectsjournal.co.uk\/news\/new-practice-baillie-baillie-instagram-is-more-powerful-than-wed-ever-envisaged\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">which was founded in 2019<\/a>, designed the buildings in collaboration with materials firm Logie Timber \u2013 which is based on the estate \u2013 and engineers Design Engineering Workshop.<\/p>\n<p>The two buildings add to an existing group of timber structures previously developed by Logie Estate and Logie Timber.<\/p>\n<p>Director Colin Baillie said: \u2018Logie Estate shows how much more can be done with home-sourced timber, so we wanted to design something that fits with their ethos and ours.
