Emmerdale spoilers follow from Monday’s episode (19 October), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet.

In tonight’s Emmerdale, Belle Dingle discovers that her abusive ex-husband Tom King is due to be released – and before long, she starts to worry that he’s already trying to manipulate her again.

Meanwhile, Aaron and Sarah interrogate various suspects in the mystery of the missing £100,000!

Read on for five big moments from Monday’s episode…

1. Belle receives an ominous visit"belle

ITV

Belle is shocked when her victim liaison officer arrives at Wishing Well Cottage, letting her know that Tom will be released from prison soon.

She’s told Tom will be under strict conditions and won’t be allowed near her, but the Dingles aren’t sure he’ll respect those rules…

2. Charles passes on more news about Tom"charles

ITV

At the café, Charles overhears Belle talking to Nicola about Tom’s imminent release.

The local vicar reveals that he already knew what’s going on, as he’s been talking to Tom as part of his role as the prison chaplain.

Charles reveals that Tom is claiming to be a reformed character and bitterly regrets everything he put Belle through. But as Emmerdale hinted when Tom’s return was announced last month, this is unlikely to be the truth…

James Chase, who plays Tom, recently said: “He is a character driven by obsession and a desperate need for control, and it is both fascinating and challenging to step back into that mindset.

“The audience knows exactly who he is and what he is capable of, so the challenge now is to show the lengths he is willing to go to in order to get what he wants, even if it means dismantling Belle’s life all over again. It’s a dark path, and I’m ready to see how far Tom will push it.”

Belle reckons that Tom is already using Charles to get messages to her and play with her emotions – is she right?

3. Lydia gets carried away"lydia

ITV

Lydia tells Kim that she’s worried about how things will be for Samson when he’s released from jail.

She’s delighted when Kim appears to be offering Samson a job upon his return – but there appears to have been a misunderstanding.

4. Kev comes under suspicion"nicola

ITV

Aaron, Sarah and Robert discuss who could have stolen the £100,000 poker winnings from the pub. Joe and Jai are raised as suspects, but neither seems plausible once they retrace everyone’s movements.

Aaron soon decides that Kev could have been the culprit – after all, he has form. How will Kev react when Aaron and Sarah confront him?

5. The thief is revealed"aaron

ITV

By the end of the episode, someone realises the truth about the stolen money – and confronts the culprit!

Who is responsible for stealing Robert’s cash?

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
