\n\tKPop Demon Hunters \u201cGolden\u201d vocalist EJAE<\/a> married her longtime fianc\u00e9 music producer Samuel Kim on Saturday (Oct. 17) in Seoul, South Korea. According to Vogue<\/a>, the ceremony was infused with nods to the couple\u2019s heritage and kicked off with a Paebaek ceremony<\/a>, a centuries-old Korean tradition that originally served as a welcome for the bride into the groom\u2019s family.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe ceremony and welcome party took place at the Korean fusion restaurant Congdu50, which has sweeping views of the capital city. \u201cNot everyone does Paebaek, but we wanted to have that traditional element as part of our wedding<\/a>,\u201d EJAE told the magazine.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe couple then exchanged vows on Saturday at Stage 28, a venue whose origin story had deep meaning for EJAE, as her grandparents lived in the house on the venue property when she was a girl. \u201cI spent much of my childhood exploring the garden and walking with my grandfather in the hills behind the house,\u201d she explained of the home and property that were later turned into an event venue, where EJAE\u2019s brother also got married.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe singer reposted a gallery of photos from the event<\/a> on Instagram on Monday (Oct. 19), opening with a snap of the happy couple raising their arms in joy as they walk down the aisle after the ceremony. The bride wore a custom Daniele Frankel white tulle gown with a strapless neckline, a bubbled hem and a nude chiffon layer that Vogue said was in keeping with the singer\u2019s desire for a dress that would be \u201cethereal, modern, chic and timeless with a twist.\u201d She accented the gown with heirloom jewelry passed down from her grandmother to her mother.<\/p>\n

\n\tFor the party, EJAE changed into a custom Zac Posen chiffon dress and, later in the night, a shimmery Milla Nova mini dress for dancing. The groom wore a bespoke double-breasted black tuxedo from Bhambi\u2019s Custom Tailors in New York, as well as a custom white tuxedo by Posen for the reception. The couple wore traditional Korean ceremonial garments for their Paebaek ceremony.<\/p>\n

\n\tTheir love story began in 2017 when they were set up by a mutual friend for a songwriting session at Kim\u2019s home studio. \u201cWe worked on a couple of songs, but mostly, we just connected,\u201d Ejae told the fashion magazine about the relationship that was strictly professional until the night she went out to see Kim\u2019s roommate\u2019s band perform. \u201cWe both loved anime and the same kind of music \u2026 Later that night, [he] confessed his feelings. We\u2019ve been together ever since.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThey got a place together in Brooklyn and then, after more than seven years, Kim (tried) to surprise the singer by taking her for a walk through their favorite borough park last June, where their friends had set up a picnic and he popped the question. Shortly after, KPop Demon Hunters was released and suddenly EJAE\u2019s work as part of the fictional K-pop group HUNTR\/X on the Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit \u201cGolden\u201d shot her into the pop stratosphere.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe endless promotional and awards show cycle meant that wedding plans had to be put on hold for a while after EJAE said they initially planned a November 2026 wedding in California, before moving it up to this month in South Korea. \u201cThat left us about four months to plan everything,\u201d she said. \u201cIt was hectic and a little stressful, but it was real teamwork, and everything has fallen into place perfectly.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tEJEA told Vogue that the ceremony was \u201cbeautiful, heartfelt and fun \u2026 I\u2019ll never forget the feeling of walking down the aisle and seeing all of my closest friends and family members surrounding me with their love and support. Sam and I had set intentions to try to stay in the moment and connect with each other and our guests. We definitely were both a bit nervous, but mostly excited to start our lives together as husband and wife.\u201d<\/p>\n
