For the uninitiated, the American Idol winner started beefing with the New York City store Art of Play on social media earlier this month when she claimed she was treated like Julia Roberts\u2019 character in Pretty Woman\u00a0and \u201clooked at as if [she] couldn\u2019t afford\u201d to buy anything.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know what it\u2019s like to be Molly the bird,\u201d she wrote on Threads<\/a>. The actress went on to detail her experience meeting Kelly Clarkson in 2009 when she was a host on MTV Australia, and she was \u201cso smitten by how down to earth and funny she was\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter the interview I got up and left the room. But right before I closed the door, I heard Miss Clarkson say, \u2018She was adorable, I just want to put her in my pocket and take her with me\u2019, a reference to me,\u201d she detailed.<\/p>\n

Rose joked that the overheard comment has allowed her to empathise with Molly, the $15,000 bird, as it was something Clarkson also wanted to take home with her.<\/p>\n

\u201cI asked my producer if I could find a way to become really tiny so that I could live in Kelly\u2019s pocket. My producer laughed. We left and went on to another interview, but for years I wondered what my life could have been,\u201d she remarked.<\/p>\n

Clarkson and Rose reunited on The Kelly Clarkson Show in 2021, where they reminisced about their first interview together and the Breakaway singer said she was \u201cmesmerised\u201d by the Aussie star.<\/p>\n

Rose\u2019s post comes after Art of Play co-owner Adam Rubin did a series of media interviews and told USA Today<\/a> that the online backlash has made them \u201cafraid for the security of [their] shopkeepers\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cKelly Clarkson has put us in danger,\u201d he said. \u201cNot just people showing up in person, but our neighbours are being doxxed and review-bombed, people are getting threatened on the street, and the worst part is: we didn\u2019t know this was gonna happen, but Kelly Clarkson did.\u201d<\/p>\n

He went on to invite Clarkson to attend the store again, attend one of their magic shows and give them another try because \u201cthis is an insane misunderstanding\u201d.<\/p>\n
