By 2040, nearly half of the world\u2019s population will be over 40, making healthy longevity and proactive nutrition important drivers of future growth, stated Nestl\u00e9. These segments are expected to deliver double-digit growth through 2031.<\/p>\n

The Solgar Prime range includes Vitality Creatine Complex, a daily powder formulated to help support muscle strength, energy, mobility, and bone and cartilage health. Studies show that creatine supplementation can help increase lean muscle mass and muscular strength, both of which typically decline with age. <\/p>\n
The range also includes Hair Growth Complex, with biotin and zinc, to support thicker, fuller hair. <\/p>\n
Interest in healthy-longevity<\/p>\n
The Swiss multi-national has held a long interest in the healthy-longevity space, with the company having launched the Celltrient product line for cellular aging in 2020<\/a> in the U.S., which it has since rebranded as Solgar Cellular Nutrition<\/a>. That line is no longer listed on the brand\u2019s U.S. website. <\/p>\n Nestl\u00e9 has taken a two-pronged approach to the category, by investing in players such as ChromaDex (now Niagen Bioscience) for nicotinamide riboside (NR) and Amazentis (which owns the Timeline consumer brand and markets the Mitopure ingredient for mitochondrial health), for Urolithin A.<\/p>\n The company\u2019s scientists are also exploring the potential of nicotinamide and pyridoxine to stimulate muscle stem cells<\/a> and the olive polyphenol oleuropein to reverse mitochondrial dysfunction and impaired muscle mass and muscle performance during sarcopenia.<\/p>\n Another compound of interest is trigonelline, a naturally occurring alkaloid and structurally related to nicotinic acid (vitamin B3), which is reported to be decreased in older people with sarcopenia. Levels of the compound also correlate positively with muscle strength.<\/p>\n Data from studies with Caenorhabditis elegans, mice and humans indicated that trigonelline supplementation could boost NAD+ levels, with additional insights from the C. elegans experiments showing that trigonelline may reduce age-related muscle wasting and increase lifespan (Nature Metabolism<\/a>). <\/p>\n
