The device could one day help people with diabetes manage their condition with fewer drugs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-content\">\u201cWe\u2019re trying to really go after the root cause of the disease, which of course is glucose,\u201d says bioengineer <a href=\"https:\/\/bsse.ethz.ch\/people\/detail-person.martin-fussenegger.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Martin Fussenegger<\/a>, who led the research. All diabetes treatments are designed to directly or indirectly lower blood glucose levels.
