Previous incarnations of the nature series were defined by their gorgeous, crystal-clear footage that seemed almost too good to be real. But one dead giveaway of AI is when things look too polished and seamless. To counter that, Blue Planet III goes warts and all.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Executive Producer Elizabeth White told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/media\/2026\/oct\/24\/blue-planet-iii-cloudier-footage-prove-authenticity-ai-boom\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Guardian<\/a> in the past, \u201cthe amount of plankton and things\u201d floating in the water would have caused them to cut a shot. Or \u201cwe might have framed out a boat or a buoy or gone: \u2018Oh, actually \u2026 the water conditions are not really good enough for this.\u2019\u201d Instead, this time they\u2019re leaving it all in to show a more authentic, organic version of the oceans.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">The series features incredible displays of dolphins trapping fish by plugging holes with sea sponges, inter-species fish communication, and 200,000 crabs lining up in formation to feed.
