It\u2019s a playbook this agency knows really well, the same playbook that went from Apollo 7 splashdown to Apollo 11 in just nine months,\u201d he said during a news conference at Kennedy Space Center. Isaacman said the \u201cnew space race\u201d to land astronauts on the moon will be \u201cmuch closer than it ever needed to be\u201d because of slow going in past years.Isaacman\u2019s update came six months after the successful Artemis II flight around the moon by four astronauts. According to a Fortune report, the agency plans to keep options open as long as possible before choosing between SpaceX and Blue Origin for the Artemis IV lunar lander that is scheduled for 2028.<\/p>\n<p>Elon Musk\u2019s SpaceX and Jeff Bezos\u2019 Blue Origin get ready to build a Moon base<\/p>\n<p>NASA plans to launch moon base near the moon\u2019s south pole \u2014 nowhere near Apollo\u2019s more equatorial locales. Both agencies \u2013 Elon Musk\u2019s SpaceX and Jeff Bezos\u2019 Blue Origin will launch their landers next year for docking practice by the three NASA astronauts and one Italian who will blast into orbit aboard NASA\u2019s Orion capsule. The mission will be completed with three launches in quick succession from Cape Canaveral.
