\n\tRobert Pattinson may be the star of Matt Reeves\u2019 \u201cThe Batman<\/a>\u201d series, but another Caped Crusader will soon take flight in the rebooted DC universe under James Gunn<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe DC Studios chief has revealed a few details on who will don the cowl in his new universe, which launched with last year\u2019s \u201cSuperman<\/a>\u201d starring David Corenswet. When Gunn and Peter Safran took the reigns of DC Studios in 2022, they announced several movies and shows in the first chapter of the world, such as \u201cSuperman,\u201d \u201cSupergirl,\u201d \u201cLanterns\u201d and \u201cClayface.\u201d In addition to several other so-far unreleased projects, they revealed a Batman movie titled \u201cThe Brave and the Bold,\u201d which would be separate from Pattinson\u2019s hero in Reeves\u2019 series.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn an advance video from \u201cThe Suicide Squad: Is It Canon? The Official Podcast,\u201d set to release Friday, Gunn shut down rumors that Batman is cast yet, while also revealing the type of actor fans can expect.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt won\u2019t be too long before we\u2019re casting Batman. We haven\u2019t cast yet, by the way \u2014 all the people thinking he\u2019ll show up in this or that, it\u2019s all bullshit,\u201d he said. \u201cWhen we do cast the DCU Batman, which isn\u2019t very far away, if I gave somebody a day role in \u2018The Suicide Squad\u2019 that is going to be the best Batman, I\u2019m not going to rule him out from that. I want to get everybody into account. One of the things that excites me about casting Batman is being able to pick a Batman who\u2019s actually the best actor for that role. Superman\u2019s have always been chosen based on who the best actor for that role is. And for some reason, Batman\u2019s are always chosen as movie stars.\u201d<\/p>\n

James Gunn confirms casting of the Batman “isn’t very far” and he will be of similar age as SUPERMAN<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen asked by \u201cThe Suicide Squad\u201d actor Steve Agee if he needed to think about a Batman actor\u2019s age when casting, considering \u201cthey\u2019re going to be doing this 10 years from now,\u201d Gunn replied \u201cdefinitely.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cPeople are always looking for little hints about the casting of Batman,\u201d Gunn said. \u201cRoughly, Batman and Superman are around the same age. I don\u2019t think they\u2019re drastically different ages. They\u2019re future best pals, contemporaries.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tTo put a potential Batman actor\u2019s age into perspective, \u201cSuperman\u201d star Corenswet is 33. So a Batman in his mid-30s seems likely. Corenswet will headline the following chapter of the DCU with next summer\u2019s \u201cMan of Tomorrow,\u201d out July 9.<\/p>\n
