Former Coronation Street<\/a> star Adam Rickitt has spoken about his venture following his time on the ITV soap. Before Ben Price stepped into the role, Rickitt portrayed Nick Tilsley on the series from 1997 until 1999.<\/p>\n

He returned to Corrie for three separate stints between 2002 and 2004, making his final appearance in July 2004. Rickitt then starred in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks as Kyle Kelly, before leaving the show in 2020. <\/p>\n

His most recent soap appearance was in a guest role for Doctors, where he starred as Michael Harvey in 2023, but he has made some unique moves away from the acting industry in the past few years.<\/p>\n

Following on from his acting career, Rickitt and his wife Kathy co-own a craft beer and artisan gin bar named Dexter and Jones in Knutsford, Cheshire, which they purchased in 2019. <\/p>\n

The pair have put a lot of work into it, with Rickitt telling The Times<\/a> that they have “have sunk everything into” building the space, noting: “[I] took the personal allowance of about \u00a312,000 and then we took dividends of \u00a336,000 to stay within the basic tax band.”<\/p>\n

Rickitt also spoke of his late father, revealing that he’d allowed him to borrow \u00a35.5 million from him, but he never saw it back before his passing.<\/p>\n

“He was very much a spender. He would blow all his money on stupid things and not very sound investments despite earning \u00a32m to \u00a33m a year \u2014 and then he would come and borrow my money,” he said. <\/p>\n

However, he continued to say that he wasn’t “angry” about it as money “didn’t make [him] happy”, adding: “I’m happily married to the love of my life, running this place and doing pop music again.”<\/p>\n

Outside of his acting work, Rickitt also had a music career, where he released one album, Good Times, in 1999. His first single ‘I Breathe Again’ did well in the UK charts, reaching #5 and receiving a silver certification by BPI. <\/p>\n
