MIDLAND, Mich. (WJRT) – Midland has retained the top spot for places to retire in the United States, according to U.S. News & World Report.<\/p>\n
According to the report, Midland secured the top spot due to its high affordability score and retiree tax savings.<\/p>\n
\u201cRetirees are seeking a place that gives them a sense of security and comfort as they live out their golden years,\u201d said Megan Wood, assistant managing editor, home services and real estate. \u201cWhether that comfort prioritizes scenic nature spots, access to multi-cultural experiences, or everyday affordability, places like Midland, Michigan, offer financial safety while still providing a good quality of life.\u201d<\/p>\n
Midland received the top spot in last year’s survey. It is the only Michigan city in the top ten and one of four (Troy #20, Wyoming #21 and Rochester Hills #24) Michigan locations in the top 25.<\/p>\n
Bay City was ranked at #44 on the list.<\/p>\n

4. The Woodlands, TX.<\/p>\n

9. Lynchburg, VA.<\/p>\n
10. Palm Coast, FL.<\/p>\n
The entire rankings include small, medium and big places across the United States.<\/p>\n
U.S. News<\/a> evaluated more than 850 cities in the survey. The top 250 were published.
