SAINT GEORGE, Antigua and Barbuda \u2014 King Charles flung up his hands in despair as he was caught in a tropical rainstorm in \u200bAntigua, while his wife Queen Camilla strolled off with the \u200conly available umbrella.<\/p>\n
The couple\u2019s Caribbean tour has been dominated by the debate over Britain\u2019s role in the slave trade, but it was the sight of the soaked monarch \u200bwhich made headlines this weekend.<\/p>\n
As the rain hammered down on \u200bCharles, 77, he was seen gesturing and turning round to \u2060try to attract the attention of someone who might help, while Camilla \u200bwas shielded from the downpour.<\/p>\n

Locals taking part in the Antigua and Barbuda \u200bindependence day parade did not flinch as they were lashed by the storm.<\/p>\n
Charles was eventually given an umbrella and was seen joking about his experience with Prime \u200bMinister Gaston Browne. \u201cI think I\u2019m about to grow watercress on my suit,\u201d \u200bhe said in a video posted on the royal family\u2019s Instagram account.<\/p>\n
It is not \u200cthe \u2060first time the frustration of the famously short-fused monarch has been captured in public.<\/p>\n
Not long after he became king in 2022 in an incident which went viral on social media, he reacted grumpily when a pen \u200bleaked ink onto \u200bhis hand at \u2060an event in Northern Ireland.<\/p>\n
\u201cOh God, I hate this,\u201d he cursed. \u201cI can\u2019t bear this bloody thing… every stinking \u200btime,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n
He has since made fun of himself, \u200bquipping \u2060at a subsequent event, \u201cI\u2019m hoping that my pen is going to work. It doesn\u2019t usually.\u201d<\/p>\n
