Molecular hydrogen consists of two hydrogen atoms joined together. Detected minor ingredients include methane, ammonia, water vapor, hydrogen sulfide and phosphine.<\/p>\n<p>Those smaller ingredients help build the cloud layers. Upper decks contain ammonia ice clouds; atmospheric models place ammonium hydrosulfide clouds underneath and water clouds deeper down. Winds organize the visible cloud bands, while the Great Red Spot is a long-lived storm within the atmosphere.<\/p>\n<p>In 1995, the Galileo atmospheric probe measured atmospheric composition directly during its descent. Location mattered.
