\n\t\u201cMiraculous,\u201d<\/a> the girl-power blockbuster franchise set in Paris and turning 10 this year, is getting ready for its next theatrical animated adventure with a topnotch creative team.<\/p>\n

\n\tProducer John Cohen<\/a> (\u201cDespicable Me<\/a>,\u201d \u201cThe Angry Birds Movie\u201d) and writer Matt Roller<\/a> (\u201cRick And Morty,\u201d \u201cCommunity\u201d) have been brought on board by Miraculous<\/a> Corp, the joint venture formed just over a year ago between Mediawan<\/a> and Zag, the outfit founded by \u201cMiraculous\u2019 writer, director and producer Jeremy Zag<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\n\tNow in development, the next bigscreen project will mark the next installment in the franchise whose first feature, \u201cMiraculous Ladybug & Cat Noir,\u201d was a global hit in 2023. While it streamed on Netflix in a number of territories such as the U.S., Canada and Latin America, the film thrived at the box office across most of Europe where it opened theatrically, grossing over $40 million. Featuring eight original songs, the musical film also broke ground as the first female-powered superhero movie set in Paris. <\/p>\n

\n\tCohen\u00a0and Roller will be working on the new movie alongside Jeremy Zag, who had directed the first \u201cMiraculous\u201d film and will also serve as a producer. The announcement was made by Andy Yeatman, CEO of Miraculous Corp<\/a> USA and global operations. <\/p>\n

\n\tInspired by the style and storytelling of Japanese anime, \u201cMiraculous: Ladybug & Cat Noir\u201d follows Marinette and Adrien, two Parisian teenagers entrusted with magical powers to protect the city from supervillains. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe film will expand on the hit series created by Thomas Astruc and designed by Nathana\u00ebl Bronn, which has been airing on TF1 in France since 2015, as well as over 120 additional territories worldwide. The franchise has a massive global digital ecosystem, garnering over\u00a048 billion views on YouTube, with more than\u00a043 million subscribers\u00a0across\u00a031 localized channels. On TikTok, the brand boasts more than\u00a01 billion views and it\u2019s built a community of more than\u00a056 million followers across all platforms. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019ve been a huge fan of \u2018Miraculous\u2019 for years. Few franchises in the world have captured hearts the way\u00a0Miraculous\u00a0has, with its mix of character-driven storytelling, fantastic comedy, breathtaking action, and empowering themes,\u201d said Cohen, who is currently in production on\u00a0Paramount Pictures\u2019 \u201cThe Angry Birds Movie 3\u2033 starring Jason Sudeikis and set for a December 2026 release. \u201cThis is a series that has become a true cultural icon, uniting fans from Paris to S\u00e3o Paulo to Seoul. The chance to help craft Ladybug and Cat Noir\u2019s global theatrical feature film\u2014building on their incredible legacy\u2014was irresistible,\u201d added Cohen, whose production credits also include \u201cDespicable Me\u201d and \u201cThe Garfield Movie.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tRoller, meanwhile, said, \u201cWhat excites me about\u00a0Miraculous\u00a0is how it balances epic superhero spectacle with deeply relatable characters and stories about real emotions\u2014love, trust, jealousy, hope.\u201d \u201cThat combination makes it a dream playground for a storyteller. I can\u2019t wait to take these heroes and their world into a fresh, exciting chapter that will surprise audiences while staying true to everything they love about\u00a0Miraculous,\u201d continued Roller, who is a creator, showrunner and executive producer on the Netflix animated comedy\u00a0\u201cHaunted Hotel\u201d which premiered in September. His many television credits include \u201cCommunity,\u201d \u201cSpeechless,\u201d \u201cRick and Morty.\u201d He is currently writing an original comedy for Sony.<\/p>\n

\n\tZag and Mediawan\u2019s chairman and co-founder Pierre-Antoine Capton<\/a>, who hosted a bash at the Eiffel Tower for Miraculous\u2019 10-year anniversary on the eve of Mipcom, said they looked forward to \u201csee (their) ambition come to life on the big screen with a feature film\u201d with Cohen and Roller joining Miraculous Corp for the project. <\/p>\n

\n\tSpeaking at the festive Paris event surrounded by his family, as well as creative and business partners, Zag said \u201c\u2018Miraculous\u2019 is a journey that started 15 years ago and the beginning it was very hard to make it happen.\u201d It was indeed a brand new IP with a female superhero way before it was hype. Zag was also committed to weaving themes of resilience, courage and identity, alongside the action adventure and comedy. As such, \u201cMiraculous\u201d has been hailed as a benchmark in values-driven entertainment for youth audiences. Zag, who shared the stage with Capton, Yeatman, Astruc, Bronn and Aton Soumache, among others, also praised Mediawan for being \u201can incredible partner who gave (Miraculous) a new energy for pushing the brand even further around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBeyond television and film,\u00a0\u201cMiraculous\u201d\u00a0has indeed been extended into toys, books, fashion, games and live events<\/p>\n
