{"id":73666,"date":"2025-10-14T09:34:07","date_gmt":"2025-10-14T09:34:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/73666\/"},"modified":"2025-10-14T09:34:07","modified_gmt":"2025-10-14T09:34:07","slug":"spacex-completes-11th-starship-test-flight-dw-10-14-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/73666\/","title":{"rendered":"SpaceX completes 11th Starship test flight \u2013 DW \u2013 10\/14\/2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/elon-musk\/t-63587027\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Elon Musk&#8217;s<\/a>\u00a0mammoth SpaceX Starship on Monday completed its 11th test flight from a Texas launch site.<\/p>\n<p>This was the last test flight before SpaceX starts test-launching a new version of the giant rocket equipped with more features for Moon and Mars missions.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/spacex-rocket-explodes-into-a-massive-fireball-during-test\/a-72970435\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Starship was launched<\/a> Monday from SpaceX&#8217;s south Texas launch facilities just after 6:25 pm local time (2325 UTC). The rocket included the Starship upper stage stacked atop its Super Heavy booster.<\/p>\n<p>After sending the Starship stage to the edge of space, Super Heavy returned for a controlled entry\u00a0in the Gulf of Mexico 7 minutes after takeoff.<\/p>\n<p>After its flight, the\u00a0upper stage splashed down as planned into the Indian Ocean.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Acting <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/nasa\/t-64526832\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NASA<\/a>\u00a0Administrator Sean Duffy said on X that the mission was &#8220;another major step toward landing Americans on the Moon&#8217;s south pole.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Upgrades on the way for Starship\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>SpaceX, in future tests, expects to launch a more advanced Starship prototype tailored with upgrades essential for long-duration missions in space, the company said on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The upgraded prototype &#8220;is really the vehicle that could take humans to the Moon and Mars,&#8221; SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell said at a conference in Paris last month.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Previous tests of the enormous <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/spacex-cancels-starship-launch-over-ground-systems-issue\/a-73748445\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Starship rocket have resulted in explosions<\/a> of the upper stage.<\/p>\n<p>But the <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/spacexs-starship-shows-it-can-put-satellites-into-orbit\/a-73776863\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">streak of failed test flights ended after Starship&#8217;s last mission in August<\/a>.
